For several reasons it can be possible that parts of the teeth or sometimes even all teeth cannot longer be preserved for a patient. When the teeth and molars have been removed from the mouth, it can be hard to chew food. Sometimes appearance or deterioration of speech also plays a role . In such cases the patient can be helped with a partial or full set of  artificial teeth.  Artificial teeth are also known as dental prosthesis or briefly called dentures.
